CANCELED

EXPO 2023 HAS BEEN CANCELED due to unavailability of the facility.

YOU CAN HELP

The Horse Trail Riding Expo is the major fund raising for our organization.  These funds are used for horse trail and trail head improvements in our state, trail clearings and creating new trails like the one opening soon at Summit Lake.  Attending this event, participating in our clinics and supporting our vendors is the easiest way to help our organization.  Rolling up your sleeves and volunteering at this event helps ensure this event will continue.  We cannot do it without you.

BE PART OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE

This page will continue to grow with information on Expo.  Today, we are asking for volunteers to be part of the Expo Planning Committee.  Committee members will meet with our group (via Zoom) at least monthly between now and Expo.  We brainstorm ideas to make Expo fun for our guests and create a big punch list of things that need done to pull this off!  No talent needed - just ambition!  Our committee is very much boots on the ground at Expo, so attending the pre-event meetings familiarizes you with all things Expo and it is sure to max out your Fit-Bit steps!  Sign up today and we will provide more information on our upcoming meeting.  No help is too little and no obligation by signing up!  We will invite you to our first meeting (which you can attend via Zoom video or phone) and you can decide if you'd like to volunteer for this event.   You don't even need to own a horse - you just have to love them!  It's a great way to meet other like minded horse lovers.

What do committee members do?

  • Plan presenters and presentations - always looking for new ideas

  • Fill rider spots

  • Schedule volunteers

  • Great guests

  • Design tee shirts

  • Solicit program ads & raffle items

  • Assign barn space

  • Plan and design Trail Challenge course

  • Awards

  • Vendor assistants

  • Clinician assistants (being their "go-to")

  • Web skills & reporting

  • Scheduling

  • Event Set-up

  • Have fun!

If you aren't a planner but would like to help at the event, you can sign up to be a volunteer.  We will notify you first of the expo volunteer jobs available before we reach out to the public.  You can select from the list of opportunities from working the door to opening gates for the riders.  No meetings required.

OTHER WAYS TO GIVE

The Horse Trail Riding Expo and our fall Trail Challenge are major fundraiser for the Nebraska Horse Trails Committee.  We continued to support projects during the pandemic but losing two Expos and one Trail Challenge has really hit our treasury hard!  You are just a click away from supporting Nebraska trails by purchasing an NHTC membership or simply making a tax-deductible donation securely online.  We thank you in advance for your contribution.

Happy Trails.

Tammy Vasa

Expo Chair

*NHTC reserves the right to cancel Expo if City of Omaha mandates capacity limits due to continued concerns re COVID.  NHTC will have hand sanitizer available at the Expo.  Masks will be encouraged, but optional, unless mandated.
